Chelsea to discuss new deal with hero Drogba

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck says the club will hold talks with forward Didier Drogba about a new contract next week and hopes to appoint a permanent manager “sooner rather than later.”
The 34-year-old Ivory Coast international joined the west London club from Marseille in 2004.
Buck added that the club intends to appoint a permanent manager prior to the pre-season tour of the United States that starts with a match against Seattle Sounders on July 18

Canada’s Catharine Pendrel puts in worst outing of career

World champion Catharine Pendrel is already looking ahead after what she called the worst performance of her year.
Pendrel was one minute 12 seconds behind winner Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa of Norway.The result means Pendrel is now second in the overall standings, 60 points behind France’s Julie Bresset.

It’s not really about how many goals you get in the playoffs.Usually, it’s when you get them.

Adam Lind’s status with Blue Jays up in air

Maria Sharapova successfully defends Italian Open title

Maria Sharapova retained the Italian Open title on Sunday with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Li Na in a match dominated by wild swings of momentum.

Canadian paddlers increase Olympic chances
